Ryan Harvey blows up! and some Notes

Well, going 4-5 with 4 homers and 6 RBIs ain't too shabby is it? Here is the MiLB.com recap, with some promising words about Harvey's improved approach.

Saturday Morning Bullets:
  • Tyler Colvin raised his average to .331 going 3-4 (all singles)
  • Felix Pie went 1-3 with a double and a walk, raising his numbers to 272/331/411
  • As I mentioned Ryan Harvey hit 4 HRs last night, but what I failed to mention was that the 4th won the game. The 4 HRs were off 3 different pitchers, and in looking at the numbers for those pitchers, it wasn't exactly like these guys were chumps.
  • Jeff Samardzija made his final start before returning to Notre Dame last night, and pitch nicely, going 6 innings, giving up 4 hits, 1 ER, walking 3, and striking out 3.
  • According to this article on InsideTheIvy.com about Ryan Harvey's 4 homer performance, Billy Petrick will make his Daytona debut today. Petrick had gone 5-0 with a 2.23 ERA for Boise. Petrick struggled in his Daytona debut last season going 1-4 with a 5.59 ERA in 9 games.
