This Week & Bring Out the Broom

Well, tomorrow marks an unexpected visit down to Orlando for business, and while posting should be fairly regular, don't be surprised if a post happens a little later than normal.

Just a couple notes on today's games:
  • Brian Dopirak hit homer #1 on the season and may be turning the corner.
  • Iowa won a thriller 12-11 in a game that saw the I-Cubs score 11 runs in 5 innings. Felix Pie went 1-6 with an RBI. Michael Restovich went 2-5 with his 18th HR and 5 RBIs, while Casey McGehee went 1-2 with 3 walks (an oddity in this organization).
  • Randy Wells started the I-Cubs game and took a no decision going 4 innings, giving up 10 hits, and 6 ERs raising his ERA to 5.02.
  • As the picture shown above indicates, I have to say something about the 4 game sweep the big club put on the Cards this weekend. The team that played this weekend, is unlikely to be the same after Monday, but the team showed what could've been with 4 days of pitching, hitting, and defense that made them look like the top team in the division.
