Minor League Report for 9/1
Oklahoma 7 Iowa 4 - Buck Coats went 2-4 and Luis Montanez went 1-4 with his 7th HR as an Iowa Cub (9th on the season). Felix Pie went 1-4, while Eric Patterson had perhaps his toughest night since being promoted to Iowa, going 0-5. On the mound, Jerome Williams (5-7) took the loss going 6.1 IP, giving up 9 hits, 5 ERs, 4 walks, and struck out 2.
Chattanooga 3 West Tennessee 1 - Sean Gallagher (7-5) pitched well going 7 IP, giving up 5 hits, 2 ERs, 2 walks, and struck out 9, but despite the nice numbers, still took the loss. Aron Weston was perhaps the lone star at the plate, going 2-4 with 2 doubles, while only 3 other players managed a single. Jake Fox went 0-4, but did drive in the D-Jaxx' lone run on a sac fly in the bottom of the 9th.
Brevard County 2 Daytona 0 - Daytona finally played a game, their first in 3 days due to the inclement weather, but their offense simply didn't show up. Nathan Price went 2-3, while Chris Robinson and Jemel Spearman each added a single hit. Ryan Bicondoa (1-3) pitched well again going 8.1 IP, giving up 6 hits, 1 ER, 1 walk, and struck out 6, but took the loss.
Peoria 6 Wisconsin 5 - Todd Blackford (10-9) went 5.2 IP, giving up just 2 hits, 1 ER, 3 walks, and struck out 2 in earning the win for the Chiefs. Ryan Norwood went 2-4 with a RBI, while Jesus Valdez went 1-3 with a triple and a run batted in.
Boise 9 Spokane 0 - Russ Canzler went 2-5 with 2 doubles, while Tyler Colvin went 1-5 and hit his 9th HR of the season, the 4th consecutive game that Colvin homered in. Steven Clevenger went 3-4 with a double, while Alfred Joseph went 2-5, his 8th game in the last 10 that Joseph has had 2 hits in a game. Jacob Renshaw (1-2) earned the win going 6 shutout innings, giving up 3 hits, walking 1, and striking out 5, while Jason Ruhlman and Alex Maestri combined to throw 3 shutout innings in relief.
