Shaver to have surgery

As always, InsideTheIvy.com has a great article up about Chris Shaver, and his impending surgery to have some bone spurs removed from his elbow.

Shaver went 7-10 with a 2.99 ERA at AA West Tennessee (and a cup of coffee at Daytona to start the season) this season and tallied a workman-like 159 IPs on the year. Shaver's manager for the D-Jaxx, Pat Listach described his arsenal in the following quote:

“He’s got a good fastball, 90 and up, and mixes it in with a slider that he throws into righties. He gets a lot of groundballs. He’s got really good endurance and can keep you in the game for seven or eight innings.”
