Cubs give out another big bonus

This excerpt comes from the Daily Herald:

Big money: Look for the Cubs to announce Wednesday that they’ve signed 11th-round draft pick Chris Huseby, a high school pitcher out of Florida.

Huseby, who underwent Tommy John surgery in March 2005, will get an eye-popping bonus of $1.3 million. Huseby apparently made it clear he was headed to college at Auburn unless he got a suitable bonus.

The Cubs liked what they saw of Huseby during throwing sessions at Wrigley Field and at their spring-training facility at Mesa, Ariz.
