Minor League Update

Well, I'm going on vacation for a few days so posting will be unpredictable this weekend, but here are a few highlights from last night's minor league action:

  • Ryan Harvey continued his respectable play since his return from his mysterious absence. Harvey went 3-4, all singles, and raised his average to .206 on the season now.
  • Nic Jackson went 2-4 and continues his improved play this season, now batting .336 at West Tennessee.
  • Brian Dopirak went 0-3 dropping him to .211 and has yet to have an extra base hit on the season in 19 at bats.
  • Scott Moore went 0-3 as well and has seen his average drop from .300 down to .257 now.
  • NC State alum, Jake Muyco went 3-3 with a double and a walk for the Peoria Chiefs. Muyco was drafted last year and has yet to have much success at the plate batting 231/296/327
In the big leagues, with Kerry Wood going to visit a doctor about his shoulder, Carlos Marmol will most likely get the call to replace Wood in the starting rotation. Marmol has created quite a buzz in his first couple of games by being in total control on the mound. On the season, Marmol has now pitched 4 innings, given up 3 hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 6.
