Today's Drive-By

Watch out for the bullets:
  • Felix Pie enjoys August it appears, as he went 2-3 with a walk and a double, although he did get picked off.
  • Angel Guzman pitched just one inning in his start last night, hopefully this isn't bad news. My hope is that he was removed just in case he is needed in Chicago today, since there will be a double header.
  • Jake Fox hit another HR, his 4th in AA, and 20th on the year, and his numbers are now 220/262/390 at AA, but is showing some signs of turning it around.
  • Jose Ceda, who was acquired in the Todd Walker deal, pitched 2 shutout innings for the Rookie League team and struck out 4. Ceda is definitely on my watch list after hearing about his stuff.
  • Also, since this is a minor league site, the big club has two minor leaguers starting today in Carlos Marmol and Juan Mateo. Joking of course, although Mateo does make his major league debut. Because of the lack of WGN at my hotel, I won't get to see Mateo's debut, but anxiously await word on Mateo's stuff. As I posted at BleedCubbieBlue, who thought Marmol and Mateo would be starting a doubleheader for the Cubs this year?
Notes: Well, tomorrow is when I return back home, so posting should return to normal on Monday. Until then, enjoy the bullets!
