Minor League Report for 6/14

New Orleans 4 Iowa 2 - The I-Cubs managed 6 hits, half of which were by Michael Restovich. Restovich went 3-4 with his 10th HR of the year which drove in both of the Cubs runs. Jay Kuk Ryu (2-5) took the loss going just 4 innings giving 5 hits, 4 ER, 4 Walks, and striking out just 1. The bullpen pitched 4 innings of hitless relief, but that seems pretty pointless in a loss.

Huntsville 12 West Tenn 0 - Ouch. Nick Jackson and Miguel Negron had the D-Jaxx only 2 hits of the game. The most entertaining feature of the game was when left fielder, Richard Lewis came in to pitch the bottom of the 8th and went 3 up-3 down while striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.

Daytona 2 Brevard County 1 - Justin Berg (5-5) went 6.2 innings giving up just 1 ER to get the win for the D-Cubs. Jake Fox and Matt Craig supplied with the offense with their 16th and 8th homeruns of the year, respectively.

Notes: It appears Mark Prior will no longer be subject to commentary on this page, as he will be making his 2006 major league debut on (drumroll please....) Sunday; If you interested in draft signings, the Cubs have now signed 14 of their 2006 draftees, including 7th and 8th round picks SS Steve Clevenger and P Bill Muldowney.
